Estate
Middleburg, Virginia

The Goodstone Inn, on picturesque Snake
Hill Farm located on 265 acres in historic Middleburg, Virginia offers
elegant lodging in a world-class setting. A restful retreat for
equestrians and other visitors to Middleburg's renowned foxhunting
country. This award-winning luxury Inn offers sweeping views of the
rolling Virginia countryside.
A multi-million dollar renovation of the historic estate was completed
in late 1998 turning this remarkable establishment into a world-class
Inn. Seven buildings, a working farm, picturesque pool circa 1937 and
a dramatic vine-covered facade of the remains of the original
Goodstone Mansion comprise this truly unique environment.
The Carriage House, which serves as the primary lodging residence was
originally used to house horses and carriages for the estate. It now
provides four of the inn's 13 guestrooms and suites. The Dutch
Cottage, Spring House and French Farm Cottage each offer elegantly
appointed guest rooms, living rooms, kitchens and private baths.
All rooms include full country breakfast, afternoon tea, full bar
service, nightly turndown service, morning continental breakfast and
local newspaper delivery and concierge services. Activities and
amenities include: in-room massage therapy, canoeing, horseback
riding, outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, 2.5 mile nature trail, and
golf at a nearby private club.
Local attractions include countless wineries, civil war battlefields,
antique shopping in Middleburg, and tours of lovely estate homes such
as Oatlands and Locksley Manor.
Recognition: In December 2001, The Goodstone Inn & Estate was
recognized by the reknowned Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report with the
Grand Award. Each year, Harper singles out some of the world's most
captivating hideaway hotels and resorts for special recognition. To be
initially considered for the annual awards competition, nominees must
be relatively intimate in size and be located in truly peaceful and
scenically pleasing surroundings. Compatible resorts are then judged
for their all-around comfort, non-commercial character and passionate
commitment to personal service.
The Goodstone Inn and Estate was chosen by Conde Nast Johansens, the
internationally acclaimed publisher of hotel guides, as one of their
2002 Most Outstanding Inns in North America.
