Nestled in the Sangre de Christo mountain range, at the foot of the Spanish Peaks, and right off the Highway of Legends, the Hotel brings the vibe of our creative community to life. 18 unique rooms, each decorated by talented local artists make your stay special.

The local art inspires more than just the rooms. Alys Romer’s restaurant delivers world-class food to those looking to enjoy a special night out or to travelers on their way to Denver, Taos, Santa Fe or the Great Sand Dunes.

Get away from your everyday, and see what the beauty of Southern Colorado and the friendly accommodations at the La Veta Inn can bring to your spirit, your imagination, your creativity.

Every room at the La Veta Inn is unique. You’ll feel the inspiration of Southern Colorado’s natural beauty and each artist’s distinctive vision as you relax at the hotel.

Your pampering doesn’t stop with the design and the service at the hotel. Fall asleep snuggled in a Canadian down comforter and Israeli cotton sheets on your luxurious, featherbed mattress. Every bathroom is outfitted with organic soaps, shampoos and lotions. Top off the pampering with a relaxing massage just steps from your room.

Alys doesn’t hide in the kitchen. You’ll find her front and center, laughing with old friends and new friends alike, serving her delicious, homemade fare with the style that has made her a Southern Colorado legend.

Reservations are suggested for the fine dining menu served Wednesday thru Saturday nights—many times accompanied by live music. The rest of the week as well as each day for lunch feature a more casual menu including her signature Alys’ Fireside Sandwich. To eat at Alys is to make a wonderful memory.

There’s no shortage of interesting things to do in La Veta. For some people there’s nothing more to know than we’re less than one mile from the Grandote Peaks Golf Course. If you love golf in a beautiful setting, this Tom Weisskopf designed course is hard to beat. For others who hike, who photograph nature, who cycle, the proximity to some of the most unspoiled and beautiful Colorado landscapes makes La Veta the funky and artistic base camp for outdoor adventure.

There are exciting things happening every week at the La Veta Inn. From the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad that runs between La Veta and Alamosa to the Stonewall Century in late summer, there is always something great going on in the Cuchara Valley.
