Rancho De La Osa is a 300 year old ranch property
located 65 miles from Tucson and is one of the last great haciendas in America.
Established as a guest ranch in 1923, Rancho De La Osa’s history has been
lovingly preserved in the beautiful buildings that rest comfortably in the
rolling grasslands of the high Sonoran Desert.
Meal times are focused around quality food and wine, and daytime activities
include horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, nature walks, and bird
watching. Rancho De La Osa’s themed weekends can include cowboy cookouts, wine
tasting dinners, cooking lessons, cattle round ups and informal western dance
instruction. The outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, peace garden and massage
services provide a holistic approach to your restoration and relaxation.
The hacienda, built between the 1830's and 1860's, today houses two dining rooms
and four salons, with fireplaces for warmth and guest relaxation. The adobe
walls of the hacienda are more than two feet thick, providing natural cooling
protection from the summer heat and warmth from the late night winter chill.
The territorial-style guest quarters, made from ancient clays of the ranch, are
wonderfully serene, simply elegant and perfectly weathered. The 21 adobe guest
rooms are uniquely and vibrantly furnished with Mexican antiques. All rooms are
ground level with separate entrances and private bathrooms. Each has a porch
that opens to mountain views and most rooms have a wood burning fireplace. All
rooms are in close proximity to the pool, hot tub, corrals and dining areas.
As well as being a unique destination for those interested in horseback riding,
hiking, nature, history and the great outdoors, Rancho De La Osa is also a
perfect venue for family reunions, birthday celebrations, small destination
weddings, corporate retreats and themed weekends. Due to its size and location,
Rancho De La Osa can provide you with an intimate and secluded setting for your
special event and can offer exclusive use of the ranch facilities for these
occasions.
