Alberta's Mount Engadine Lodge announces lineup for the 2010 Music in the Meadow Series

What started as a fun little music series has quickly blossomed into an event that this year had over 45 entries applying to play in one of four concerts, including over 15 Juno nominees or winners (the Juno's are Canada's Grammy awards).

September 18th– Suzie Vinnick

The concerts are performed inside the dining room for only 30 people maximum and the artists stay at the Lodge for a couple of nights allowing for the guests to sit down and have dinner or breakfast with them.

The focus has been primarily on Canadian artists and the music tends to be more in the Roots/Folk range.

Concert tickets are available to lodge guests staying during these dates and outside dinner/concert packages will be available once the Lodge is sold out.

July 24th – Eileen Laverty

Having shared the stage with Ian Tyson and Tom Cochrane, her recent CD ‘Ground beneath my Feet’ had the song ‘Crazy World’ which took 3rd place honours in the Female Singer/Songwriter category at the 2009 Just Plain Folk Music awards held in Nashville this past August. Billboard magazine said that Eileen has ‘striking originality’.  www.eileenlaverty.com

August 14th – Karla Anderson

Karla burst onto the scene in 2005 with her song ‘What Else Can I Do’ which was featured on the hit TV show ‘Joan of Arcadia,’ which also coincided with the debut release ‘The Embassy Sessions’ which won her the Best New Artist award at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Her new CD released in late November of 2009 ‘Brand New Day’ is getting rave reviews. www.karlaanderson.com

September 18th– Suzie Vinnick

The ease of transition from blues to folk to light contemporary music is stunning with a voice that you can’t believe you are hearing live.
