Butterfly Meadows Inn & Farm has been a labor of love from the start. Over 20 years ago, innkeepers Norman and Darlene Bobo had their honeymoon plans changed due to the effects of a hurricane. Little did they know that their alternate plan of staying in B&B’s along the eastern seaboard would foster the dream of having their own inn.
In 2003, the couple purchased a beautiful 40 acre parcel of land in southern Williamson County. The land had many features: a country setting, good access to the highways and close proximity to Franklin, TN, one of their family’s favorite Tennessee towns. The most important feature was the land itself, which included a forested hilltop with panoramic views (part of the Duck River mountain ridge), as well as several rolling meadows surrounding the hill. Another added pleasure was the discovery of the thousands of butterflies making their home here. The farm was immediately named Butterfly Meadows. The family decided that not only was this the perfect place to call home, this beautiful setting should be shared with others.
A half mile winding drive was cut from the road to the top of the hill and the meadows were fenced. Walking trails were cut through the woods. Thousands of plans, ideas and suggestions were considered to design a perfect place that the innkeepers could call home and where guests could relax in a home away from home. In keeping with the rural area and the setting, the inn was designed with the look and charm of a 100 year old farmhouse. After several years of planning, construction was begun and completed in 2009.
The dream sparked years ago has resulted in Butterfly Meadows Inn & Farm, a special place for individuals and groups looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life. The inn’s porches and guest rooms overlook panoramic views of middle Tennessee splendor and beautiful hardwood forests. From the welcoming front porch to the country charm of each guestroom to the fabulous meals around the dining table to the large gathering rooms where guests can spend time with old friends and make new ones, you can’t help but feel at home. Everything about the inn has been designed to help you feel as if you have traveled back in time to a simpler, more relaxed way of life.
The Inn offers special quilting weekends, writer and songwriter workshops, history and music city interest events, crafter and photography retreats, well-being workshops and other special interest events designed to help you perfect an interest or develop a new one.
